



Overview: Defence subcontractor looking after scheduled maintenance on board navy vessels in NSW. Upon inspection it was found cavitation damage requiring corrosion protection coating and repairs to their internal volutes and 250mm stators. These pumps required repairs to cavitation damage with minimal long-term maintenance.

Abrasive blast to AS 1627.4 Class 2.5 to a nominal profile of 60μm
Application of 1 coat of RS 500P to 100μm
Application of 1 coat of RA 500M, a wet tolerant epoxy system to 250μm
Carry out QA, DFT & Holiday test up to 4.3kV
Application of 1 coat of RP 500 to a thickness of 250μm
OUTCOME
Chemco’s Epo-chem™ 100% solids epoxy glass flake filled composite system coupled with ceramic filled RP 500 will provide full coverage which are potable water approved.
